High on the Butte in Montmartre, on rue du Mont-Cenis, the bar Nonsense hosted two very different Elements Jazz nights. The first was an intimate duo — Arnaud Quercy on piano alongside double bassist Olivier Rivaux, a reunion with one of Arnaud's oldest musical companions, going back to the 1980s when the two played together and Arnaud was on saxophone at the Tribulum in Paris.
The second, a year-end celebration, brought the full quartet — Arnaud Quercy on piano, Pierre-Alexis Courty on guitar, Elliot Langlois on double bass and Romain Courty on drums — for a night of swing and latin jazz above the rooftops of Montmartre. Two sets, two moods — one quiet and nostalgic, one bright and danceable — in one of Paris's most romantic quarters.
