Le Barde Atomique — a relaxed local bar on rue des Fontenelles in Ecquevilly, out in the Yvelines countryside west of Paris — holds a singular place in the band's history: it was the very first gig Elements Jazz ever played as a group. The founding quartet — Arnaud Quercy on piano, Jeremy Quentin on guitar, Elliot Langlois on double bass and Romain Courty on drums — set up in the unpretentious room and ran through the swing, bossa nova and blues standards that would become the group's signature. A modest village-bar beginning, and the night Elements Jazz first found its sound together.
