Tucked onto rue Sauval near Les Halles, Act21 was the cosy Paris 1st-arrondissement cocktail bar where Elements Jazz spent the spring of 2018 "boppin' the place" over wine, food and late nights. Across roughly half a dozen evenings between April and June, the room heard Herbie Hancock, Horace Silver, Wayne Shorter, Miles Davis, Jobim and Charlie Parker, played with plenty of swing for whoever wandered in.

The band shifted between trio and quartet around pianist Arnaud Quercy, Elliot Langlois on double bass and Romain Courty on drums. Night to night the bandstand filled with guest stars — Jeremy Quentin and Adrien Shanuk on guitar, Émilie Forbin on voice, Damien Fior and Cyril DRP on double bass, and Anael Noury and Alexis Léonardon on drums — for a freewheeling run through swing, bebop and latin jazz.
